Guyanese continue to donate…

Guyana Fire Service Donates to the Haiti Relief  EffortEveryday donations continue to pour in as Guyanese of all ages contributed foodstuff, water, clothing and shoes in a national effort to help ease the suffering of their Haitians brothers and sisters. Large and medium sized companies, small companies and their staff, teachers, school children, public servants, churches and other organisation, all are genuinely happy to give whatever they could afford.

Minister Priya Manickchand had nothing but praise for all, especially those who had so little and still managed to contribute $1,000 or $2,000 to the Haiti Relief Fund.

Renaldo Flemming, teacher at St. Stanislaus College, said that the staff got together and decided to do something for the people of Haiti and on behalf of the staff and students of St. Stanislaus College he made a donation of 2 boxes of food items.

Neal and Massy Guyana director, Shameer Hoosein, donated a cheque to the amount of $750,000 and said that his company was pleased to be a part of the assistance to the people of Haiti.

Neal & Massy Guyana makes donationThis time around it was the staff of Republic Bank, represented by Ms. Anita Mohabeer, that proudly presented a cheque to the amount of $300,000 to Minister Priya Manickchand.

Ansa Mc Al Trading Limited, represented by Dershanie Wyssuf, donated 200 cases of sardine while members of Gandhi Youth Organisation, represented by General Secretary, D. Budram and Snr. Vice President, M. Sawh, donated a cheque to the amount of $142,000.

Gizmos and Gadgets represented by marketing manager, Leisa Waddell and Nayatanand Manbodth, donated $100,000.

Guyana Fire Service donated cash to the amount of $140,200 while National Hardware Store donated $100,000 in cash along used clothing.

Sterling Products donated margarine, laundry soap and soap powder.
